Celaeno•16Ταύρος•Κελαινώ - designated 16 Tauri, is a star in the constellation of Taurus and a member of the Pleiades open star cluster (M45) of stars.

In Greek mythology, Celaeno (Ancient Greek: Κελαινώ Kelaino, lit. 'the dark one', also Celeno or Kelaino, sometimes Calaeno) was one of the Pleiades. Celaeno - was the daughter of Atlas and Pleione or Aethra. She was said to be mother of Lycus and Nycteus by Poseidon of Eurypylus (or Eurytus), King of Cyrene, and Lycaon, also by Poseidon and lastly of Lycus and Chimaereus by Prometheus.
